A Mother and Daughter, Both with Type 1 Diabetes

We’ve been asking for submissions of photos of life with Type 1 diabetes. We received this interesting photo from Stacey Rose, who also shared a snapshot of her family’s story:

My daughter and I take this same photo every November for International Diabetes Awareness Day. We’ve been doing this since her diagnosis with Type 1 diabetes seven years ago; she is 12 now. I’ve had Type 1 diabetes for 39 years and we use that particular finger because it sums up our feelings about diabetes.

We’d love to share more stories of the bond between parents and children who both have Type 1. If you have a story like this to share, or a photo of life with Type 1 diabetes, please send it to submissions@selfrx.com.
