The Unicorn Reading
A mother shares her son’s rare 100 mg/dL reading for our “Type 1 Diabetes Snapshots” series.
Many photos sent in for our “Type 1 Diabetes Snapshots” series are serious in nature, which makes sense because of the seriousness of this chronic condition. That’s why it’s all the more fun to capture playful moments like this photo, which was sent in by Lisa Rask with this caption:
“The Unicorn: a 100 mg/dL reading, achieved 5 times in 15,000 tests. This is my son Griffin, 10 years old, who was diagnosed at age 4. We took this photo to play on marathon runners biting their finishing medals at the end of a race.”
